Saideepa Times speaks to Sunil Nuthakki on the year 2022. The CEO says it all. We have captured the summary for our readers.
Saideepa Times : Can you describe the year 2022 as a whole for Saideepa ?
Sunil Nuthakki : We approached 2022 with our own calculations. A plan was laid out, and we followed it very diligently. Our estimates were fairly accurate, and we could achieve our numbers. Yes, I will certainly acknowledge the immense pressure of the external forces such as steel price hikes. It is our goodwill and relationships that helped us. Discussion with our customers and planning with them worked very well. Our customers could understand the global situation and supported us in difficult times. Overall, it has been a good year for Saideepa.
Saideepa Times : The Saideepa 20 year celebration event was appreciated by all, what do you see as your key takeaways from such actions ?
Sunil Nuthakki : It has been 20 years since Saideepa started its business. 2022 was a landmark year and it was very important that we celebrate with our current team and those who worked with us. Employees are very important. We have together built this company. As management, we always want our employees to understand that they are with us as a team. The 20-year celebration event was an important message, which said that the company has come a long way & has done well. The employee’s morale means a lot to us. I am happy to see that the employees responded & got engaged in the event.
As we saw history unfold and all the key speakers remembered the old moments, it was a great learning for the current team. I feel that we all should learn from history. The company during its journey has faced so many challenges, difficulties, and opportunities. We must ensure that as a team we are prepared to face any such challenges again.
Felicitation of our oldest employees was a very important action that we did during our 20-year celebration. It was a very precious & emotional moment for all of us.
Saideepa Times : Saideepa's new facility at Dandumalkapur is taking shape, what were the main triggers behind this strategy expansion investment ?
Sunil Nuthakki : This plant is complete and now getting occupied with world class machines ready for occupancy. The idea was to bring most of the operations under one roof. The company is growing and our need for space is increasing by the day. The speed of manufacturing can be improved when the processes have minimum travel distance. We want to reduce the time between operations. This will improve our efficiency and we can produce more.
An increase of production along with better control on the quality systems, means better products for lower costs which can overcome the current pricing issues and more benefits to our customers. This new plant will help us scale up when required in different verticals.
Saideepa Times : What is the current status of your Solar Energy initiative and what are your current CSR activities for the year 2022?
Sunil Nuthakki : A contribution towards improving our carbon footprint is being made by adding more Megawatts of power by installing solar panels on our roof tops. This is a green initiative taken by our group.
As we grow in business, it is also important to give it back to the society from where we have received our resources. Saideepa has started contributing for facilities in a medical college, located in a nearby district. This medical college will help treat people in the surrounding villages. We also provide our contribution to an NGO called Akshaya Patra, which takes care of food for children in the surrounding schools. These are some of the actions we have taken as part of our CSR initiative.
Saideepa Times : Which new machines, products, markets or customers could Saideepa add in 2022 ?
Sunil Nuthakki : Continuous work on R&D is very important. We speak to our customers and understand their requirements. Saideepa is now ready to launch new products such as PDC bits, HDD accessories and Symmetrix systems in the infrastructure sector. Our exploration product Line has evolved further. We can now offer Reverse Circulation Hammers and Core lines.
New machines are key to our success. With investments in land and resources, the group has also made large capital purchases of machines & furnaces to increase our productivity levels.
Saideepa Times : Considering the global scenario, what would be the challenges of 2023 ?

: The current scenario is not favorable for business in certain markets. It is very unfortunate that the whole world is facing a lot of challenges. There is a vacuum and a gap in many parts of the world which require our products and services. We are focusing on those areas and trying our level best to support wherever it is required.
Saideepa Times : What message would you like to give your team, vendors, channel partners for 2023 ?
Sunil Nuthakki : I would like to specifically highlight that the coming year will be more challenging as the global situation is changing rapidly day by day. We all need to brace ourselves to face these challenges. Let’s focus on streamlining our processes, give more focus to the new systems to be implemented and improve the quality standards of our products.
